Apples are appearing everywhere this time of year and we can’t resist baking all sorts of sweets with them at home. The girls are in the mood for some apple pie and wanted to learn how to make one. I introduced them to the rustic tart and now they can’t wait to make all sorts of flavor combinations. Rustic tarts are a great way to get the kids involved in the kitchen and experiment with seasonal fruits.
There’s no wrong way to make a rustic tart, hence the word “rustic”. Think; hands-free, easy, fun baking! Here, I’ll show you how we did it.
Top it with powder sugar, caramel sauce or warm apricot preserve. Then add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and enjoy! It’s great warm or cold. Tip: for left overs, warm the apple tart a bit in the microwave before serving, top with the vanilla ice cream and smile through ever bite. I love a piece with a good cup of coffee while enjoying the so much needed colder weather. We are in Florida, so we don’t get the chilled days often. We enjoy them as they come.
Now, share with me. Have you had, (or made) a rustic apple tart before? What’s your favorite pie or tart recipe?

Making memories around the kitchen table and capturing them with my camera is where you’ll find me. Unless I’m boarding a plane or on a road trip somewhere with my girls.
