Another Happy Birthday!
Maria Isabel just turned 1 year old and it was my honor to make her first birthday cake! She is my friend/sister’s daughter. Her mom and I are really good friends and the go to person when I need a good down to earth girl talk. Her family is my family and very special to me!
The theme of her celebration was none other than Minnie Mouse and pink was her color. Don’t you love it already? I’m a girly girl and have two girly girls so pink is a color of choice in this house. Even my laptop is pink!
Anyways, this is not about me. It’s about Maria Isabel’s 1st Birthday Cake. So here it is.
The ears are made out of rice krispie treats and covered in modeling chocolate then black fondant for a dark and smooth feeling.

The drawback is that the background is black and the details (Minnie ears) of the cake can’t be well appreciated. Note to myself & Tip to you; get a white background for the cakes that require a lighter setting.
