Japanese fusion cuisine has arrived to Park Avenue! Umi Restaurant offers everything from fresh sushi and fresh seafood to grilled meats and sushi rice. Also featured are homemade desserts and the largest local selection of Japanese hot, cold and infused sake, plus Japanese premium beer by the bottle.
Located on the south end of Park Avenue, a half block from Fairbanks Avenue and across from Rollins College. Umi serves top quality meat, fish, vegetables, noodles, and rice and primarily local produce. Fresh fish is flown in from the East and West Coasts of the United States, as well as Japan, Hawaii, Southeast Asia, New Zealand, South America, Scotland, Canada and the Mediterranean.
A tapas style menu gives diners the opportunity to sample all kinds of food and explore new tastes, while also experiencing the signature Sushi Bar and the Sake, Beer and Wine Bar with Happy Hour specials and wine flights for sampling or pairing for your next visit. My favorite was the Pineapple infused Sake, it is sweet and subtle.
For dessert try Matcha Green Tea Panna Cotta. Japanese green tea panna cotta, topped with chocolate cookie and pine nut crumbles, yuzu citrus coulis. It’s super creamy and divine.

Let me start of by stating that I am NOT a sushi person. With this being said, I did see some VERY good meat items in the menu and was able to try some of the options pictured above. The pork belly was VERY good, it had a good flavor and was very tender. The small flat-bread was my favorite, yet I hope that the actual plate be bigger or have more.
In all, this is a VERY nice place to go on a date and enjoy some sake !!!
