Witches Midnight Puppy Chow

Who doesn’t love a good puppy chow? We made our very own Halloween inspired Witches Midnight Puppy Chow and everyone we know got a serving to enjoy. Who knew you could make cups of puppy chow and it was so easy to make too? All we have to say is that you’ll love this recipe and it’s great to snack on. This post and recipe was created for #HalloweenTreatsWeek! I was sent samples by some of the sponsor companies but as always opinions are 100% mine.

Mix the cereal of your choice, add chocolate, peanut butter, and your favorite candies to the recipe. Think candy corn and themed sprinkles.

Witches Midnight Puppy Chow

Spooky treats include our Witches Midnight Puppy Chow. Sweet, chocolaty with a hint of peanut butter and lots of candy corn. Perfect Halloween treat!

Ingredients

• 3 cups Chex Cereal
• 2 cups Count Dracula Cereal, with marshmallows
• 1/4 (1/2 stick) Butter, unsalted
• 1/2 cup Spreadable Chocolate
• 1/4 cup Peanut Butter, smooth
• 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
• 1 cup Powdered Sugar, (we use Dixie Crystals)
• Candy Corn
• Halloween Sprinkles, (we use Sweets and Treats)

Instructions

1. Place the Check and Count Dracula cereals into a large bowl. Set aside.
2. In a small saucepan combine the butter, chocolate and peanut butter and cook over low heat. Cook until the butter is melted and combined with the chocolate and peanut butter. Stir frequently.
3. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
4. Pour the butter and chocolate mixture over the cereals. Stir well to combine and thoroughly coat.
5. Place into a large plastic zip-lock bag. Add the powdered sugar. Shake until the powdered sugar has coated the cereal mixture. Tip: the perfect job for kids!
6. Line two rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper. Place the puppy chow on the baking sheets. Be sure to keep the mixture to one even layer to ensure even drying.
7. Add the Halloween sprinkles, and candy corn.
8. Let the puppy chow dry for about 4-6 hours. Once dry store in an airtight container up to 1 week.

When your kids get home with the overload of candies source them out and make this puppy chow. Add in the candies of your choice. Gummies or chocolate coated candies; even the hard candies if you like to snack on them. Make your own Witches Midnight Puppy Chow and share with us.
