Once I found a bourbon ham in my local grocery store I knew I had to make a pizza. We love ordering ham and bacon pizza. This ham is full of flavor, once you try one slice you just can’t put it down. So, my recommendations are to try your very best not to taste before you have set aside the bourbon ham you are using for your pizza. Then by all means, taste and devour away, you will see what I mean once you do.
The pizza dough I make is enough for two pizzas, we love to have a meaty pizza and a cheese pizza. But, you can go with what your family enjoys the most. Super customizable recipe!
Bourbon Ham and Bacon Pizza
(Recipe by Wanda Lopez, My Sweet Zepol)Ingredients
Pizza dough (enough for two pizzas)
1 cup Bourbon Ham
1 cup Bacon (cooked)
1/2 cup Mozzarella Cheese
1/2 cup Cheddar Cheese
1 cup Marinara Sauce
Directions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Split pizza dough in half. Stretch dough into two 9 inch rounds.
Top each with marinara sauce.
Sprinkle with cheeses, diced or shredded (you choose).
Shred Bourbon ham into pieces. Spread half mixture on each pizza.
Crumble the bacon on top of the ham on each pizza.
Bake for 12 to 16 minutes or until golden brown.
Let cool for 2 to 5 minutes, cut into desired slices.
Instead of round pizza(s) I went with a large rectangular pizza to change it a bit. That is one of the beauties of making your own pizza at home, you can play with the shape and the ingredients. Add more ham or more bacon as you wish and make this recipe your own.
